Small Group Tour

Phnom Penh • Battambang • Siem Reap • Angkor Wat • Homestay • Sihanoukville Beach

Days 1 & 2: Phnom Penh

Arrive in the enigmatic capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh. Pay respects to lives lost at the chilling Tuol Sleng Museum and the infamous Killing Fields. In your free time, gain insight into a more glorious era in the country’s history amid the treasures at the National Museum.

Days 3 & 4: Battambang

Cambodia’s second-largest city, Battambang, is an attractive riverside town with traces of French elegance, friendly Khmer people and well-preserved colonial architecture. Take a half day bike trip through the beautiful surrounding countryside and stop along the way to discover the local rural way of life. Stop off at small cottage industries producing sticky rice, noodles and fish paste. Perhaps join the locals for a ride on their famous bamboo train transferring goods such as rice - a great local interaction opportunity (optional extra)! Consider a mouth-watering cooking class and learn the secrets of local dishes such as: amok, Khmer curry & fried spicy chicken.

Days 5-7 Siem Reap - Angkor Wat

Rise early to witness a spectacular sunrise over Angkor Wat. Enjoy a few days of temple-hopping with a local guide; the temples of Angkor Wat are all uniquely amazing and are sure to captivate. When the sun goes down, head down to the lively town centre of Siem Reap and, if feeling brave, snack on some crunchy crickets – the local speciality.

Day 8: Sambor Prei Kuk - Homestay

Experience rural Cambodian life by spending the night at the home of a local family. Explore the nearby ruins of Sambor Prei Kuk with a local guide and, if there’s time, hire a bicycle and cycle through the picturesque countryside (own expense).

Days 9 & 10: Kampot

Famous for its pepper, Kampot supplied most French restaurants with this vital spice for many years during colonial rule. Today, the region is more renowned for its plantations of durian, a spiky, pungent fruit that either incites adoration or sheer loathing. Try it if you dare! Venture out on a countryside tour - giving you the opportunity to discover the jewels of the Kampot Province countryside, including local salt fields, rice fields, pepper plantations and the famous Phnom Chhnork caves.

Days 11 & 12: Sihanoukville

For a spot of beachside bliss, Sihanoukville is the perfect destination. Take a boat tour to one of the many nearby islands, discover tropical paradise in Ream National Park or simply kick back and relax surrounded by swaying palms, white sands and boundless, blue ocean.

Days 13 & 14: Phnom Penh

Back in Phnom Penh, go in search of shade and some silver jewellery at the Russian Market or see if the blue flag is flying outside the Royal Palace - it’s a sign the king is in residence. Then, it’s time to bid farewell to new-found friends as the Best of Cambodia trip comes to an end.
